All Hallows sent a (small) coach to Westminster Abbey today, and had a wonderful time witnessing the consecration of Bishop Jonathan (II). As usual, your blogger forgot to take his camera, but I expect there will be lovely pictures on the Ebbsfleet website before long. It was good to see so many friends, not least Bishop David Thomas.

Ad multos annos, Bishop Jonathan!

It was good to see the following on the Archbishop’s website, which explains clearly the relationship of the Provincial Visitors to the Archbishop:

“Bishop Goodall has been commissioned by Archbishop Welby to serve, in line with the 1993 Act of Synod, as one of two Provincial Episcopal Visitors for the Province of Canterbury, who work with diocesan bishops to provide extended sacramental ministry and pastoral provision on the Archbishop’s behalf, to ensure that “the integrity of differing beliefs and positions concerning the ordination of women to the priesthood should be mutually recognised and respected”. ”
