Field of Dreams: if you build it, they will come!

There and back again

I have been in Berlin over the last weekend, so I was spared the excitement of Synod. The result is exactly as I expected, and like others I was not really very concerned, since Synod is quite marginal to my thinking. Berlin was very, very hot- temperatures in the nineties (old style). For the first and probably only time I was served champagne at breakfast. Yes, Synod was far from my thoughts!

Our return flight to Bristol on Sunday evening was cancelled, so easyJet put us up in the airport hotel- comfortable, but no champagne. Yesterday we were given a flight to Liverpool, and so had our first experience of the great John Lennon Airport, with its yellow submarine outside the terminal.

There followed a three-hour taxi ride to Adge Cutler International to reclaim our car, but no sign of a combine harvester, alas! This morning it was down to earth with a bump. No sunshine and definitely no champagne. We have a hard slog before us, but I really do believe that the Autumn will bring us an abundant harvest.
